Almost dying changes nothing; dying changes everything

House: Dr. House, I don't think we have met.
Other guy: Dr. Jamey Conway, I have heard your name.
House: Most people have, it's also a noun.

This is only one example of the many arrogant dialogs that belonged to Gregory House, the main character of House MD. As you can see on the left column, House MD is one of the TV Shows that I am following. I must admit that it's the one I enjoyed most recently.

As far as I know the producer of the show, David Shore, was inspired from Sherlock Holmes, while he was creating the main character of the show; Gregory House. Although he didn't know anything about medicine, he chose his character to be a doctor, having the similar characteristics of Sherlock Holmes. And we must also Admit that Hugh Laurie has made a great job. He won the Golden Globe twice for it (2006 and 2007). Here is the casting video of Hugh Laurie for Gregory House.

"As the philosopher Jagger (referring to Mick Jagger) once said 'you can't always get what you want' ". I am not gonna make philosophy but I am gonna tell you why I and many people like this show a lot. At first
you like the character. He is genius, smart, cool, arrogant, jerk (most of the times), drug addict (legally), cripple, and etc. He is a doctor specialized in medical diagnosis (that's also what MD stands for), and he has a team consists of three young and successful doctors. Every episode of the show they get an interesting case that nobody else could solve, they screw up at first, but at the end House solves the puzzle. It sounds like pretty monotonous, doesn't it? It does sound monotonous, but it isn't.

It's now the sixth season, and every episode it gets better, I love it more. Even today, I watched the last episode and I decided to write this post about House. They treated a guy, who was afraid to tell his best friend's girl friend, who he loves, about her feelings. He almost died, and during all his treatment, one of the doctors encouraged him to talk to the girl about his feelings. So, if this was any other TV show, the guy would talk to the girl. But this generally doesn't happen in real life; neither in House. Or another one for example; a patient who doesn't care about what she wants with her life, but accepts the one that the life has brought to her. While she thinks that she is gonna die, she decides to change it. But after she survives, she goes back to her old life. Almost dying changes nothing, dying changes everything. That's also what happens in real life.

And that's why I like House MD and maybe it's the best I have ever seen.

take care till next time;
the spoilsport.
