"If the viewer is still lost till the final episode, that means we are successful at what we do."This was the statement of the producers of the "so called" mind breaking TV Show "Lost". I actually mentioned this in one of my previous posts about Lost. So the show ended, but I am still lost. Okay, let's not say Lost but I must admit that the final wasn't satisfactory. Although it was obvious that they were not gonna explain everything, I was still expecting solid answers for important things about the story.
For instance, the bright light which they claimed to be the source or the heart of the island. The explanation done in the episode called "Across the Sea" wasn't what I expected. Or the numbers. Okay, we know that these were the numbers of the last six candidates, but we were introduced with these numbers long before: Hurley's lotto winning numbers (even before that in the mental institution), in the hatch door (back in 1970s). So these numbers must have been more than that. You can increase the number of unanswered questions.
Especially the last season, the "sideways" part, which in fact weren't, were for nothing. They never happened but were put in the show to dramatize the show for the audience. But all these do not matter any more.
One of my friend told me about lost that, it wasn't the story we were fascinated by, it was how they told the story. All these mysteries, never ending questions and excitement (maybe for the first three season), these were the things we were attracted about Lost. Yet it doesn't change the fact that the show ended abruptly. But again I should give the credit also, I don't think I will get the same pleasure which I had while watching the first 3 seasons of Lost from another TV Show, because of the same reasons I mentioned above.
As Lost ends I will move on with House and Dexter (my personal favorite number 1 and 2 respectively) which have never disappointed me so far. And I guess should also mention the number 3: Battlestar Galactica, from which Lost should learn how a TV show is finalized.
the spoilsport;
PS: About TV series final, I have heard from many people that Six Feet Under has the best series finale ever but I haven't watched it yet, therefore for me still Battlestar Galactica has the best finale ever.
